Legal empowerment is one of the most crucial steps for bringing about socio-economic equality and justice.
Setu began as an idea to help rectify the informational imbalance that exists when it comes to legal literacy in India. Indian laws are saddled with obstacles making it inaccessible for a common person. Long winding and complex language render them beyond the comprehension of even an average literate person. This is ironic given that laws are meant to be written for the benefit of all. Moreover, the lack of access to credible legal information is often experienced in terms of exclusion, poor decision-making, lack of opportunity, insecurity and inequity.
AI has taken great strides in simplifying and demystifying complex concepts. Extending this capability to laws is a natural step and navigating legal labyrinths has never seemed easier.
